This week is especially exciting because we not only have the opportunity to introduce a new state-of-the-art storage product, but also have the opportunity to offer our customers an enhanced user experience on our updated website. With many Web 2.0 features, you'll have the option to register and obtain access to our 'Portal', a secure, customized customer resource tool to help assist you in evaluating, purchasing, and troubleshooting pureSilicon products. Answers to commonly asked questions will be at your fingertips and gaining access to confidential material will be easier than ever. Over the next several months you will see additional features rolled out on our site. Stay tuned.

As you may have seen throughout the blogosphere this week (here is an example) we have just released our next generation Renegade™ product, the R2 Series. This latest iteration of our rugged Solid State Drive family has a number of performance enhancements with speeds now reaching 255 MB/s sequential read and 180 MB/s sequential write (SATA II interface) for large file or streaming data transfers. It also features improved IOPS (random read: 18,000 IOPS @ 4K; random write: 1,200 IOPS @ 4K), great for transferring small random files.

Renegade R2 is available today in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB flavors communicating over an industry standard SATA II bus. The 256GB, PATA, and 1.8" versions will begin shipping in Q1 2010. During that time, all Renegade R2 drives will be available with our SiPher™ encryption and data declassification technology (we'll blog more about our SiPher technology in future posts).
